چکیده

Aim: this study aims to evaluate the efficacy of a PRP hourglass graft compared with conventional methodemploying temporalis fascia underlay in treating tympanic membrane perforation.Materials and methods: randomized controlled trial was conducted period fromOctober 2018 December 2020 on forty patients chronic otitis media safe dry mucosal disease presented todepartment otorhinolaryngology, Beni Suef University. They were randomly assigned into two groups (the firstgroup underwent myringoplasty using autologous 2nd group usingautologous only (20 each)).Results: Though all post-operative A-B gaps at 500, 1000 2000 Hz seemed be lower temporalisfascia graft, yet not significant. However, average gap statistically higher than temporalisfascia, P-value = 0.035. Myringoplasty showed significant reduction at500, Hz. While no improvement shown low frequencies (500 Hz),with (1000 & Hz). Both methods an inaverage gaps, =0.001 0.034 group. Post-operative full healingafter 3 months, complications, lateralization, displacement middle didn’t differ significantly inboth groups. Conclusion: After successful treatment, grafts had comparable hearing resultsto those fascial grafts, as by reductions mean air-bone from pre-operative topost-operative.

Platelet Rich Plasma ( PRP ) Therapy

Molloy, et. al., (2003) address specific growth factors encountered in ligament and tendon healing. After reading about the factors found in superficial wounds, above, these should appear familiar, including: Platelet derived growth factor (PDGF)—produced shortly after tendon injury, stimulates production of other growth factors such as IGF-1, and is involved in the tissue remodeling phase of h...

Comparative Study of Four Platelet-Rich Plasma Methods for Preparing Platelet Concentrates

Background: Platelet preparations have been used for a wide variety of clinical applications such as hemorrhage, tissue engineering and cellular therapy. Platelet concentrates can be prepared by the apheresis method or from the whole blood using the Buffy-coat or Platelet-rich plasma methods. The purpose of this study was to compare four variations of platelet-rich plasma method based on double...
